Beverly Hills 90210 alum Tori Spelling never had to worry about money growing up, as her multi-millionaire father Aaron Spelling was one of the most successful television producers of the 1970s and 1980s. But when she got out on her own – and after her dad passed away – Spelling has had some notorious financial troubles in her adult life.

In a recent episode of her new reality web series Tori Tried and True, the 46-year-old admitted she’s “not good with money.” And, she explained why she’s had so many financial problems despite growing up with massive wealth.

In a recent episode of the new Kin web series that airs on YouTube, Facebook Watch, and Instagram, Spelling told her fans to send her their assumptions about her, and one fan wrote that the mom-of-five is “horrible with money.”

In response, Spelling said “well, duh,” with a smile and chuckle. She added that she is “not great with money,” and she knows a lot of people read stuff about her financial problems.

“I had a business manager since I was 18 years old, so I never handled any of my money,” explained Spelling. ‘Everything, everything, went to them, so unfortunately, I never quite learned about money. Now raising kids of my own, I’m like, “That is so important!”‘

She went on to explain that because she’s never been good with money, she was never taught to deal with it properly. And now that she’s in her 40s, Spelling says it’s something that’s really important to her and she is learning. She added that learning how to handle money is something she wants her kids to know before they move out on their own.

Tori Spelling and her husband Dean McDermott are the parents of Liam, 12, Stella, 11, Hattie, 8, Finn, 7, and Beau, 2. Spelling and McDermott have had numerous financial troubles in recent years, including owing more than $1 million in taxes. And, the couple has also been sued by different creditors for unpaid bills.

Spelling also revealed during the episode that she doesn’t get financial support from her mom and didn’t get an inheritance from her dad. She said she has worked for her own money since she was 16 years old, and the actress even made her money problems part of her story-line in the meta-reboot BH90210 that aired on Fox this past summer.
